...A quick question; are the MK10+ pistons brass tipped like the middle generation MK20 pistons or are they dull-edged stainless, or were there both?

I have both. The brass is horrible, and the ss is fine, no suprise.

Yes, they had pretty much the same timing and trajectory. The brass tipped pistons did not hold up well, and they had the same seat material issues as the early Mk 20s.

I converted a couple of my Mark 10s to Mk 10+ status when the kit was first available, then unconverted them as I could only get about half a season out of them. Then 5-6 years ago, re-converted 4 or 5 of them with more recent kits as they seem to work ok with SS pistons and the current Mk 25 seats.
