Any of you ever consider or have you dove off of a Fishing boat?
I have a 22' Basscat / 200 hp Merc, and am considering making this a 2-4 man dive boat...

Reason being is that my current boats are too expensive to stand such abuse.

Anyone ever done this or seen a fishing boat as a dive machine?

(Lake Travis)

My current boats are all limited to lake travis since they are on hydrohoists on the lake, and I don't have trailers for them.My Basscat I have a trailer for, and can go anywhere in....

I dive off my 18' Stratos occasionally. Usually solo but it could handle no more than 2 divers. Gearing up in the water reduces the beating you and the boat may take. Leave a tag line to tie your gear to at the end of the dive while you gracefully climb back into the boat. Also remember to leave the engine in the right position to climb back in. And make sure it is well anchored. I had to chase mine down once after freeing up the anchor as I was finishing a dive. Two anchors is good insurance.
