I had a user want me to put in a ticket with our Global Network support desk because their time server was 13 seconds off. :rofl3:

heh.... I did it just to see the response I'd get from them. :rofl3:
 
It's not a real critical issue on SB...


I can see being off a few minutes on a message board not being a big deal...

but... Heh... you don't work where I do.

just being nano-seconds off can cause all kinds of problems with our tests. Everything is set via GPS time to make sure the systems are at the same exact time with the other systems we are testing with.
 
It looks like the clock may be off a bit again...

Scubaboard shows I posted the previous post at 12:16, but it is 12:21 local internet-corrected time.

I'm not a Unix/Linux user, but in Windows you can configure your system to automatically synchronize with a time server. Doesn't Linux have daemons you can run to do the same thing?
