If the trip sells out, isn't it possible that another SB member might take your spot, and then your deposit be returned once you space is filled?
From the deal page
$200 non-refundable deposit per room at booking

Final Payment approximately 90 days prior
to Invasion departure date
Final Payment Due By March 14 2025

Cancellations: the $200 deposit is nonrefundable
(we strongly suggest that all guests purchase travel insurance)

Unfortunately, I couldn’t do the last one, and lost my deposit. It does make it clear it’s non-refundable.
Oh my, sorry to hear that. I got a refund from the cancelled Belize trip. I won't book this until I'm sure I can go; I should know by December, so I'll wait to book. Thanks for letting me know.

My concern is if it sells out before I know I can go. HOWEVER in years of attending group trips, I know there is always someone who has to cancel right before the trip for illness or family reasons so if I don't get a spot once I know I can go, I'll let the gang know I'm ready to buy someone's spot.

I’m signed up and am excited to go! First time going on an invasion trip. I usually do dive trips with my friend and her husband or solo. Diving Utila and Rogan last summer solo I came back and started looking for groups. I found having to join groups with such varied degree of levels annoying. I didn’t get to go to several of the sites(I wanted to) because the majority of divers were not to do it. It was off season and I still had a wonderful time! But….

I haven’t been diving in Belize and it is on my bucket list for sure! I know the Blue Hole to some is just so so. But I want to see it for myself;). Looking forward to meeting new friends that love diving as much as I do!!

When the Blue Hole was a full 3 hour (if I recall correctly) ride , each way from our resort, I was one of those who voted it down.
Now, with it within easy reach of us, though, I will not pass it up, even knowing it might have disappointed some.
Even if it turned out to be just another hole in a reef, it's still diving, and it will not involve travel 6 hours in a small boat to be disappointed!

I visited Belize in 2022 on the Belize Aggressor IV. The Blue Hole was indeed very disappointing but the visit to Half Moon Caye and the dive on Half Moon Caye wall were more than worth it.

My first trip to GBH I fully enjoyed that 3 hr ride. 2 years later I was back in Belize, and I booked GBH again mostly for the boat ride, although half moon was definitely worth the return trip. Half hour of the 2nd trip was being escorted by a large pod of dolphin. Also made a stop north of Turneffe to check on a resident, and pick up some fresh fish.
