I finally had the pleasure yesterday of meeting Karen Cleveland. What a lovely lady! Super gal... intelligent, well spoken... wow! I hope we get the chance to dive together.

Who have you met recently?

Woo. Well, I live in South Florida so there's lots. I limit my response to only include the last seven days. Divesherpa, Joystershell, Monysavr, Manateenao, Alamazhino and Badmojo. I can't remember if Howarde makes the cut off or not, he's a possible.

I have had the good fortune to meet Smokeaire, who came to visit me and with whom I hope to dive with in the near future, as well as Steelemagnolia & her brother Slider2268, who I did get to dive with in a quarry in KY (41° water wet for me, dry for them) and who gave me tons of great gear!

Those whom I have talked to online have been great too for the most part.

Truly good people, all.

Here's some of them:

Well, I think my most recent acquaintances were scubak and lamont. I got to take Fundies with Rick Inman, Leeward, AnotherNWDiver, and MarcG. And I've had the good fortune to meet OE2X, Uncle Pug, JasonH20, and of course my good friend and mentor, NW Grateful Diver. That's only a partial list . . . I think three quarters of the divers here in the Puget Sound region are on SB.

Holy cow ...

... I ain't even gonna try to top that list ...

I got to dive with about 30 fellow SB'ers this past September in Bonaire.

And a good percentage of my current circle of friends spend time in here ... many of whom I probably would not have met were it not for our friendly little Internet dive community ...

... Bob (Grateful Diver)

I know Dandy Don.....among others.

Zero so far but I am definitely working on it.

Well let's see... I got certified in May '05 and I've been meeting a lot of people from the So Cal Kelp Divers forum since then too...

Peter McGuiness (just realized I met him today!)

And out-of-towners include Rick Inman and ZAquaman. Rick - thank you for the kind words! You and your wife Priscilla are pretty darn good people yourselves!

Every single one of these folks have been willing to help in any way they can on my path to becoming a confident diver. Others I've talked to online so much I feel like I know them personally! Isn't ScubaBoard an awesome place?
