What is new or different in scuba equipment? I last used scuba when I was 25 years old ,Im 50 now. So what has changed, I want to start diving again as I will be traveling more now ,and will have opportunity to dive keys or other florida locations. If I had lived near ocean I would have been diving all along. I used to have two regulators ,octupus setup ,regular bc, tank ,fins mask ,wet suit. Is there alot of new equipment ? Im thinking of finding some dive buddys here in PA,maybee going to dutch springs,do they rent dive equipment there? We dove at bainbridge quarry is that still open?I could use a brush up course before diving again, thanks. Ive always wanted to do some spearfishing maybee somewhere down the road.

Last dove 25 years ago and had very few dives for experience..Really should take the ow course over again..Not only has gear changed but YOU may have changed.Very likely your physical well being has changed in the last 25 years.Perhaps a LDS or independent instructor can take your former class experience into consideration being that you have already done one and can offer a lower cost class. The least he/she can do is discount the cost of a certification card .

Excellent point. At age 61 I needed corrective lenses in my mask. I needed to get in better physical shape (both cardiovascular and legs) and lose weight.

If you are conscientious, you will realize that you owe your buddy and fellow divers a duty to be a help, and not a burden. A rescue course is a good way to do that.
