I heard from a couple of diver friends of the passing of a fellow diver here in Kihei yesterday or Monday named "Steve Stone". Apparently his nickname was "SCUBA Steve" and I heard he spent time at MDS. I can't really place the guy although I'm pretty sure I saw him around many times. Does anyone here know what happened?

Thank you,

Shaka Doug

Hey Doug,

I don't know what happened, but Steve and I actually went through our SSI Instructor Certification together at MDS. He worked primarily at the South Kihei Road Outlet Store. Steve was a really great guy - friendly, happy, and he loved to dive. I can't believe that he is gone - he was only 31 years old.
