We are going to Bali next autum and because Tulamben looks a bit crowded, we are thinking about Scuba Seraya. We are looking for any information about service, location, diving , snorkeling, accomadation etc.

Hehe I don't think the word "crowded" can be applied to Tulamben unless they are having a ceremony!

I have friends who stay with Scuba Seraya and love everything about it. If your budget stretches, I think it's a good choice.

I had great diving in Tulamben with Tulamben Wreck Divers and ended up having a guide to myself for almost the whole time I was there. I will probably be diving with them again in the next couple of weeks. I will also be diving with Liberty Dive Resort in September.

Next week I am going to try Amed, just down the road from Tulamben, for the majority of this visit. Lots of options for places to stay and companies to dive with in Amed - and all of them visit the Tulamben sites, too. I hear it's "bigger" and has more tourists, but still keeps a definite tiny village feel. Friends stay there for about six weeks every year and love it. Can't wait to see what I think.

Wherever you decide to stay, I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time!

Hi Alcina
With "Crowded " i meant the liberty wreck, where i did a early morning dive few years ago and had between 40 and 50 divers at the place. Still a great spot ! So i´m more concerned about the general numbers of divers at the different dive sites there ( coral garden , drop off etc ). Did you snorkel there at all ? was it any good ?

I didn't snorkel. Friends have snorkeled there and said it's fabulous.

And I didn't ever have a problem with too many divers anywhere. It was rare for me to even see other divers underwater - except on the wreck, but I simply stayed off it and puttered in the muck around it (fabulous and no one else there!) mostly. Even when I had to be on the wreck, it wasn't overcrowded. And my 0600/0630 dives had almost no divers visible until an hour or so into the dive. Guess I got lucky!

Thanks JudyG
This trip report is very helpfull .Great images ! I´m looking forward to go there next year.
