Writing good surveys is both an art and a science. It's seldom done well, especially if you want it to also be unbiased. Why not answer this one as best you can, and where you run into difficulties, make comments in the free response blocks provided on the later pages?

What I'd like to know is something about the people asking for the information and for what intended use.

Sam, I tried to answer it. After several questions in which I could not come up with an answer that fit the choices, I gave up. I don't mean my response did not match the choices exactly--I mean my response did not match at all.

I completed your survey. I don't understand the safety choice when purchasing gear. Presumably, unsafe gear isn't marketed and sold. Who purchases unsafe gear?

I don't know anyone who would hit the buy button for something like, "Performance twice that of any other regulator on the market, but it is likely to kill you eventually."

On the question related to Do you experience discomfort or poor performance from your mouthpiece?

You do not have a NO response

For wetsuits I am not sure there is anything but a positively buoyant wetsuit and as for temperature well it depends on the thickness of the wetsuit, I personally own several of different thicknesses depending on the time of year and water temperatures

As per my comment about the mouthpiece above you need a NONE response for What is the biggest complaint about a dive mask?

Some people have more than one type of BCD, that option is not available

Based on post #6 and my experience when answering, I believe the current version of the questionnaire is somewhat improved from the original. But yeah, iirc I left some questions unanswered.

Fleece suits (e.g. Polartec) are neutrally buoyant.
For negatively buoyant, the best I could think of was certain poorly fitting dry-suit shells.:D

I see you're unfamiliar with CCR divers ;)

No choice for DM/Instructor....not the same as Commercial.

All,

thank you very much for taking your time out and completing the survey. As you can see this is still a work in progress and all the feedback is greatly appreciated. I am doing my best to fulfill all requests for better questions to get the best answers.

As to the dry suit question, I was hesitant to post questions about a dry suit but now i regret my decision not to add them. I will redo some of the questions and add some from the great feedback.

thanks again for your time and i appreciate all the feedback

I stand corrected on that, perhaps "wetsuits" should be renamed as "exposure protection suits"

Where do these poorly worded surveys come from? Graduate school projects in Statistics classes?

The consistent character of these first timer "survey" posts have an odd similarity as demonstrated by the redundancy of SB responses.

This one was slightly different, though. Pertinent SB user name and nice <'}}}))>< wallpaper on the survey form.

Maybe a GOOGLE freebie test? https://www.google.com/insights/consumersurveys/pricing

I don't understand why any real player in industry would pay money for such a poorly crafted survey.

Makes me wonder, every time I see one similar.

Here's a real one: http://www.williamcline.com/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=51&Itemid=66
