Yup!
I had to laugh at that gaff!
After I read it, I thought about what other meanings that term might conjure up.
Maybe something a Proctologist might do who works underwatwer?
Any other ideas out there?
On a more serious side,
I am thinking of getting the Probe, (the BC, not the other kind)
so if any of you have used one, I would like to hear from you.
My LDS owner is trying to talk me into the chuteIII
But I tried back inflators the other day and didn't like the way
they held you as compared to a regular vest type BC.
As for the price goes, it is the same price my guy is quoting me
for the "Probe"

(I'm not, but this post is ;) )

The Probe is an EXCELLENT BC! I personally do not care for jacket types so I've got the Chute III on order and my wife dives the Isla. The Probe is padded to the point that wearing it is like sitting in an easy chairs, everyone that I know of that has tried it has had nothing but good to say about it. It is very stable and made of really high quality materials. If your looking for a jacket style BC, I think you'll be very pleased with the Probe. Before choosing though, I would highly recommend giving the Chute III one more try and get someone that his very familiar to back flotation and uses one reguraly to help you get it adjusted, this will make all the difference in the world.

On another note, is that price from an authorized Oceanic dealer? Be sure to look at their website (Oceanic's that is) and look at their policy on products purchased from non-authorized Oceanic dealers.

DOH! I went back and checked the price estimate for the Probe BC
and found I was incorrect in my last post.
The price I had been quoted was 525.00 Sorry for the mix up.

That sounds a little more right for the price, but don't let that spook you, it's still a GREAT BC.

Yes I liked the vest.
It fit very well and had all the things I was looking for, the only
problem is the prices of these new BC's are crazy!
Hey Scubadooba,
If you can get two for that price, count me in!
I would be even willing to take a slightly used one, as long as it still functions properly.
What does everyone think of the Oceanics idea of putting the spare reg, on the inflator hose?
I really thought it was a great improvement over the old octopus method.
I don't know about the rest of you, but that spare reg always
seemed to be a extra hassle to find a home for, and
always seemed to be tangling up with the main regulators
hose, and console lines.
Seems that Oceanics idea was the way it should have been done in the first place

a buddy of mine just bought a Probe and loves it. The only complaint that he has is that the grommet around the retractor cable is being cut away by the retractor cable. The bad part is that it will soon cut into the bc material if he doesn't do something about it. Has anyone else experienced this problem and what did you do?
