I'm looking at buying the above reg on eBay.

Does anyone have any suggestions about the reg in general, is it good bad, indifferent? And what about buying used equipment. I know some people don't agree with buying life support online, but i'm kinda curious.

Love my Mk20/S600. The 25 just adds an external IP adjuster. But I suggest you look at www.diveinn.com before you go the ebay route. E-bay prices for that item (Mk20 version) have been running as high or higher than diveinn. At least with diveinn, you can find who you bought it from.

What about warrenty stuff by buying used? Warrenty's according to them don't transfer?

Figures.. their site is down =-x

Warranty smorenty.... Mark 25 / S600 aint gonna need not stinking warranty....

DiveInn is absolutely increadible... service wise price wise they can not be beat... PERIOD...

I order just about all my stuff through them,,,, minus the occasional LDS purchase to keep them happy and in business.

(I noticed the diveinn.com site was down as well... for about a 24 hours now)

Funny thing is so were all the other OnLine scuba shops I frequent...???? Makes me think there is some foul play going on.. Leisurepro was down as well

No warranty means that parts are not covered by ScubaPro. You will end up paying at least $60.00 a year JUST for parts + whatever fee your tech charges. It is actually cheaper in the long run to buy it new.

If warrenty is an issue, then I don't think you can get away from an authorized dealer (LDS) and the rather large retail price tag. My Diveinn purchase came with a SP warrenty card, in spanish. I submitted it to SP (Spain) but it was rejected. I not sure whether it was SP or the mail that rejected it but didn't follow it up. I knew I was not going to follow the anual maintenance requirements to keep the warrenty in effect so I wasn't very conserned about the warrenty. If you plan on anual service, then your LDS is probably the best bet in the long run. Expect to pay $30.00 to $50.00 for labor (not covered by warrenty) and save again that much for parts (after markup). Or take good care of your stuff and stretch the service interval out to 2 or 3 years or more. If you go that route, you might want to put some of the savings into backup systems - which are a good idea anyway.

I've been watching some bids on Ebay for these things.

What is a retail price for a MK25 S600 form a LDS?

So as I understand it, if I buy it from DiveInn its considered new? and fully honored warranty for defects?

that's right. I've ordered stuff from them and they are great to work with. Everything is new and covered by warranty. If you have a warranty claim, call or email them and they'll help you out. They have a subsidiary in Florida that I believe takes care of all warranty work, I know they are the ones that take the returns.

As far as eBay goes, alot of Diveinn stuff is the same price or cheaper than eBay, and like you said, brand new, still covered by warranty.
