humanFish:Since you are considering the AIRII vs a standard inflator, I would suggest searching the board for AIRII posts before you buy. There are a lot of good stories and opinions out there. You will find that manually inflating an AIRII may be the least of your worries....
If you get the air II, here is something to note. Each year, I do the yearly service (to maintain the Scubapro lifetime warrantee), I had to bring back the bc and reg and have the shop make the AIR II less "sensitive". Your regulator and AIR II must be tuned together. The AIR II had a slight air leak, from the mouth piece on both occasions. It seems like it was just a simple adjustment, but it was a pain having to go back to the LDS. Otherwise I have had a great experience.
