So where do you put a knife on a KnightKawk? I don't like the idea of having it tied to one of the hoses.

I use a titanium folding knife and clip it to my right shoulder D ring
Same if I use shears.

When I dove a knighthawk I attached a knife sheath to the 1" webbing in the front of the waist.

I just talked to a diver who put it on top of the right weight pocket This seemed like the perfect location. He said he removed the weight pockets, marked where he wanted the holes, heated the end of an awl really hot with a lighter and then just punched the material really fast to created a nice seared hose. Then he affixed his knife.

If you try this do so at your own risk. I'm not sure what it does to the warranty.

It seemed like the perfect place for a knife and it looked like it was made to go there. If we could just get Scubapro to put a couple of grommets there it would be perfect.

I am thinking of getting a Knighthawk myself.

I can't see the 1" webbing you're describing. Would you describe the location in a bit more detail?

On top of the right weight pocket??? Would be a great location and I thought of it too. However, mine has a thin buy hard inner lining right behind the outer material. You can't see it obviously so I have no idea what it's made of. It's pretty ridged. I think it's purpose is to hold the shape of the integrated weight pocket. I suppose one could punch through it but doing so with a heated awl seems pretty difficult.

Has anyone else tried that?

Infront of the cumberbund there is a 1 inch strap with a suicide clip on it. This strap actually runs all the way from the backplate through the weight belt pockets, then comes out from the pockets and has a male and a female suicide clip on it. You can just put a sheath on that webbing in the standard DIR/Hog rig fashion.

Oh, got it. Yeah, that could work. Hey, read my reply back to ScottCocoaBeach. What do you think of that?

I had seen a guy who has done this to his knighthawk, and mounted the knife underneath the weight pocket. Of course I assume that if you start busting holes in the weight pocket you might kill your warranty (if you have one). If you just put the sheath on the webbing than you aren't voiding a warranty.

On a Knight Hawk BC with Air2, how do you manually inflate the BC? I'm considering whether to get a BC with an Air2 or a regular inflator and I don't quite see how it works on the Air2 setup.

I have a KnightHawk, my wife a LadyHawk. We love them. We had Air/2's - but thought it might be confusing for the students so I put R390s on our MK25/s600's. Recently I pulled the Air/2s and replaced with the very nice power inflator which came with the BC. We both much prefer this.

It is relatively difficult to orally inflate the BC with an Air/2. Having just taken an Air/2 apart I can understand why. The "button exhaust seal", the thing which directs your breath into the hose rather than the ocean, is very thin. For it to be effective you almost have to depress the deflator button with 2 hands.
