It has been my experience when people steal dive gear they steal the knives and leave the BCD's and wet suits. Did they in fact take everything or did they leave stuff? As an investigator I find it as important to look at what they did not take as what they did take. I am sure OPD or OCSO already did this.
Serial Numbers are invaluable. There will be literally thousands of LP95's filled in the state of florida today. Each one with it's own serial number. THere is no way to know if it is yours without it.
I know there was a Spear group who where cleaned out in WPB a few years ago and with some telephone time a local shop set the scumbags up and they were named.
I personally have worked with both OPD and OCSO when I lived in Orlando and they do a great job at having the guy come in to sell the whole caboodle ending in handcuffs and a few years prison time.
Get the serial numbers as soon as you can.
TO everyone else reading this thread GET YOUR SERIAL numbers RIGHT now and WRITE them down somewhere safe with a copy someplace ELSE safe--- two is one, one is none.
Good luck on getting the BG and your stuff back. I will be looking for a diver with poor skills in full SP gear and 95's ---
