Scuba equipments

Hello,

I am wondering if I can get the names of the best scuba equipments. I really want to buy it. A friend of mine is going to Australia and I think there could be cheaper than here (BRazil).
Also, would you recommend (if exist one) an australian brand of scuba equipments?

you may want to just rent while you are in Australia, after getting certified. Buy just the basics to start (mask, fins, snorkel) rent the rest until you figure out whether you are willing to spend the money and make the long term commitment to the sport, escpecially if you are going to learn on vacation. I buy lots of good gear from people with good intentions that end up selling their gear because they lose interest, don't have the time.
