Does anyone know if you can launch your boat in Silver River, go upstream, and dive mammoth cave at Silver Springs. I know you can drive your boat upstream as long as you're not touching their land (which the state now owns). or has anybody done this?

Thanks

There is a boat launch downstream from the park. It's a scenic run to the springs that often places you in close proximity to wild monkeys. They are quite curious and quite interesting. Diving in the park is prohibited and there is lots of security. This is a great boat trip during the day, but is a sneak dive all the way. Don't expect anyone to be happy if they find you. That being said, have a great time and prepare for some wicked flow. Shoot me a PM if you want exact directions to the ramp. Also, the river is an idle-only river.

It's been a few years since I was up the river, but there were signs saying no diving past a certain point. I also asked one of the workers at Silver Springs park, and they said it wasn't allowed. So I believe the head springs are off limits. There are a few other springs within the river itself.
