Hi

I was just wondering if anyone has used snorkeling gear for diving, and how it work out?

Specifically fin, mask and snorkel.

My GF is looking at getting her first F/M/S and the snorkeling gear are much cheaper.

Thanks guys
Davy

It's going to depend on the exact items. As long as it's a low-volume mask with tempered glass, if it fits her well and doesn't leak that could work out fine. And the snorkel just doesn't matter that much, anything will do for now. Where she's most likely to run into trouble is fins. Often fins sold in inexpensive snorkeling sets aren't going to have the power to push around a diver in gear all that well, especially if you run into a situation where you really need it.
