This is the top image on my Facebook page. It has been for at least 8 years.
We always used to get room #73. The second floor on the left of the image.

This year we were going to do one week at SCC and one week at Blue Angel (like we did last year). Instead, we are doing two weeks at Blue Angel. I really like both places in different ways. They are both (were for SCC) great dive resorts, in different ways, it was totally different vacations, just 1/2 mile from each other.
We stayed at SCC pretty much every year the last 10 years and loved it, but we have not been to Blue Angel other than having dinner there one night a year ago. For you, how is the experience at BA different than at SCC?

Jose from Scuba Club now works at Aldora. I was checking in at the Aldora shop and he remembered me and my family. I don't remember him all that well but I think he was William's right hand man in the shop. I chatted him up about SCC closing and what the future plans might be. He told me that the Xcaret group is buying it, or has already bought it. He didn't know what their plans were for it. If that is indeed true, I think that's bad news for those of us hoping SCC re-opens as more or less the same thing. Xcaret has deep pockets and they are in the mega-resort & entertainment business. Hard to see them wanting to own a rustic and quaint diver's hotel. That's a prime piece of waterfront real estate that would make a great modern AI resort, or beach club, or ferry dock, or dolphin prison, or something else to extract money from cruise ship passengers.

Someone earlier asked about the price.
Price: $10,500,000 usd

Only 10 Million? Wow. If I hadn't invested all of my money into buying double hose regulators and waiting for them to appreciate 5000%, I'd jump on that! :)

If that truly is the asking price, I am very surprised. I would have thought it would be a lot higher.

About the same as a dozen or so El Cantil condos. If mortgage interest rates come crashing down, so will those SC walls. (and there's SC land across the street too)

I have no idea if the price is low or not, but this seems to be just for the hotel facilities, not for the dive operation or the boats. Also not for the store across the street.

Here is what the add says:
