We spent last weekend on Catalina Island in Southern Cal. What a wonderful time! It was our first visit and we have since decided that we have to go back. We did 3 dives total-1 shore dive and 2 boat dives. We dove with the Catalina Diver's Supply crew on the Scuba Cat. This has definitely been the best boat and crew we have ever dove with.

We started out at 9am and the crew took us up the coast to find the best dive spot and visability. We ended up at the Quarry. The sealife was abundant and beautiful and we had a very enjoyable dive. During the break, the Scuba Cat crew changed out our tanks and fed us lunch. We just sat on the upper deck and soaked in the sun, and enjoyed every moment. The boat was full but you couldn't tell because the crew was so efficient. After lunch we went to Hen's rock. A beautiful dive site! We saw lots of very large sheepshead crabs and large schools of blacksmiths among the usual garabaldi fish. It was like diving in a cathedral with the sun shining down through the kelp and reflecting off the bottom of white sand. It was a nice leisurely day and we weren't rushed to get back to the dock like normal to pick up an afternoon dive group. We got to take in the sites of the island on the trip out and back and were amazed at the large selection of dive sites to choose from.

Our special thanks go out to Ron, Dave and Capt. Rick for making our diving experience so enjoyable. You have really spoiled us and have raised the bar on customer service. We look forward to diving with you again soon.

Also, thanks to all the So Cal divers that gave us great tips on staying and eating in Avalon. The Snug Harbor Inn is a wonderful little hotel and Portofino's was a delight to the taste buds.

For anyone planning a trip to Southern California, don't miss out on the great diving off Catalina Island. It is truly a treasure!
