The Last Dive is a terrible book, about people who did dives they couldn't afford and took risks beyond what they should of. I'm sorry but how can you advocate a book in which the central character do deep air diving just because they didn't have the funds for trimix. ok i don't like the story, this isn't the main reason i dislike the book. It's too much of a damned personal account of the life of Chowdhury, and goes into more tangents than i've ever seen. Shadow divers is a very good book, about the Doria, this simply isn't
Other books:-
Jarrods GUE books , all 3
Costeau - the silent world
PADI - nitrox
PADI - dry suit (i did find it useful, amazingly)
Deeper into diving
Shadow Divers
Oxygen and the diver (this book is ~$500, so you have to WANT it
oatd, is a book about the effects of O2 on humans under pressure, basically it's a book about feeding people oxygen until they have o2 fits. pretty interesting, especially makes you respect the MOD levels of Nitrox

.
I am currently reading a few of the PADI specialty books (i aint doing the courses

) and some of them are quite useful, even though they are padded with alot of crap.
