I haven't been to LR in a while either, so trying to describe it probably won't make much sense and my description of the alcove may not be what you are refering to. It's just past the dropoff IIRC. The actual depth here was around 25' to the sandy bottom in this location and closer to the ceiling it is right at 20 feet (depending on water levels). My biggest concern was immediately after the dropoff just beyond the rebar. I just hated seeing the line float up here. It's not like finding a cinder block at the base of the dropoff to use like in Pot Hole. I have even gone as far as to tie all the bottles on the line here to hold it down behind the wall, but that just doesn't work well with AL40s and the line can become real sloppy. I'll have to look a little closer next week. The flow is down from what I'm told, so spending a little more time looking should be beneficial.

Deco in the Eye was definitely more pleasant. I'm looking forward to diving the HS area as I have been spending most of the last couple of years around Marianna and in Missouri.

The first alcove is too close anyway. The second larger area going deeper around 30' (I think haven't been in LR in some time either) has a few good places on the slope. off to the left then, when you cross back to the right keep it low and tuck it low when you go left down the chimney? Make sense? You are basically running along the left side of the cave gong in.

The Ear actually isn't that hard. Keep the scooter under you tie off low on the right wall. Immediately go to your right and get out of the flow a bit as you come in. Again, keep the scooter clean and under you while you do this. I basically push it into the rocks here if the flow is trying to move it around. Tuck a rock and go straight up. But, I prefer to use the Eye because deco is more pleasant and there you have less flow to deal with. I really haven't been to these caves in a while so the local guys probably have better tips than I do.

Can't see the videos, will check at home.

I will liely be there next week with a buddy (strictly swimming dives) and want to improve on the spots I pick for tie offs.
Little River flow is way way down right now. Easy swim dive.

Nice. Last time I was there, someone from another group of divers claimed his SS couldn't make any headway. I think he gave up. I remember that I dropped my stage on the mailine just past the mud tunnel because it was just causing so much additional drag. That dive was no fun :( We called the dive very early. I don't think I have ever worked so hard on a dive. High flow is a real ***** if you don't get to do it often enough. That's one of the problems of living so far away.
