I dove on Narcosis 2 Saturdays ago and went to those exact places.
This is what i saw at Shark Canyon. Sorry the camera was in Macro mode.

Wow thanks everyone some good insight and info on these locals. Van I believe had mentioned maybe doing something different than shark canyon on the second dive but we are def hitting Juno ledge first. Are there any other sights someone with knowledge of that area would recommend? Those videos and pictures are awesome!

As promised I got a quick recap:
Went out with van on narcosis...first let me say this is an A+ operation. Van and his staff were top notch and really made for a very enjoyable morning of diving.
Juno ledge was pretty awesome, decent viz bout 50 ft but my first deeper dive at about 80 feet, saw some good stuff and was. A very nice drift dive. Second dive was to shark canyon, not sure what happened but I guess my dad and I weren't with the leader and some people but we stayed at about 50 feet and viz was about the same, however I saw the most beautiful 6 foot reef shark about 40 feet from us with some other fish right behind him (turn around you got dinner!) sharks have been a passion of mine since I can remember and were originally the thing that scared me about diving, however I overcame that and WANtED to see sharks and I finally saw one and he/she was beautiful, so completely amazing I can't even put it in words. Other than that some nice fish etc.. Two fantastic dives and I would easily do them again with narcosis, to me there is no other choice in WPB thus far

Dependent on what drops you do you can expect Bull Sharks meeting you on the way down and on safety stops. Contact Amazz, Johnolly or Chuckitail as they are (IMO) the resident experts on Jupiter area diving.

Awww shucks......that's a lot of pressure to live up to. But thanks just the same. We have dropped on these reefs just a few times. LOL!!

Yeah....and don't turn around while diving. I saw two tiger sharks in Jupiter, nearly a year apart. Both times they were behind me. I don't know what made me turn around......just a weird feeling.

Glad that Van drummed up a reefie for you! He's a good guy. YEAH! Visibility is a real mixed bag. Saturday was probably 100 ft. but we knew things were changing. Sunday was 30-40 ft and a bit green. You never know. Shark Canyon is an amazing dive. But you definitely have to know your way around down there. When the reef starts to end you need to head East and pick up a little ledge. Then when it starts to end you go back west and it's really nice again. It's best to stick to Juno Ledge for shark encounters unless you are with a very knowledgeable guide. Another MUST dive is Tunnels in Jupiter. It's near the Jupiter Inlet so a Jupiter dive operator is recommended. I recommend Scuba Works and Blue Tang. "Coincidentally" I'm one of the divemasters and on the boat every Saturday. If you want to get really adventurous and dive with lots of bull sharks and possible see a hammerhead or two, dive on the Emerald with Randy. It's deep at 120 ft., but if you're an experienced diver, there's nothing like it for excitement. There will be hunters on the boat and blood in the water. Apparently sharks like that.

Thanks amazz! I'm a newer ow diver, certified 2 months but have 12 dives under me already...heard Jupiter is an area I should dive witty a little more experience but would LOVE to dive there because of the "big fish" do you think I should wait longer to dive it? You don't do guiding by chance do you? Which boat you DM on?

If you did fine on Narcosis you are ready for Jupiter. The depths are generally 70-90 feet. You'll need a few more dives under your belt to do the 120-140 foot deep ledge with the hammerheads and bull sharks.

Yes, I guide on Blue Tang every Saturday. I'd love to meet you and show you around our beautiful dive sites.

.... sharks have been a passion of mine since I can remember and were originally the thing that scared me about diving, however I overcame that and WANtED to see sharks

Van is a great captain!! Timing (well, water temps) are everything to see a great shark encounter in the area. 1st and 2nd weeks of May are excellent. We hit the 70 up to 78 degree swings in temps and that really brings in the big sharks for food. It's been a little hairy for us that spearfish with one of our good friends getting attacked underwater this past month. Next trip, bring a camera set for video, and follow the divers with the long pointy things the 1st week of May.
