Had a lovely solo dive tonight at my local mudhole. We're in the midst of a heavy plankton bloom right now, so I concentrated mostly on close-up shots (because that's about all I could see) ... but figured I'd share. You'll see quite a bit of particulates in the background ... vis varied with depth from about 2 feet to about 8 feet. But some of these were worth sharing ...
First up, a tiny red octopus hanging out of a shell ... this octopus is maybe 2 inches in length ...
Stubby squid ... between 1 and 2 inches in length, and very unhappy with me for shining a light in its eyes ...
Painted anemone ...
Wolf eel ... little guy, his head's about the size of my fist ...
Bay pipefish ... it's unusual to find one this color around here, they're usually green ...
... and finally, a tubeworm ...
