Thanks everyone. We are doing the all encompassing vacation. We are especially excited about doing some Orca watching, both via boat and hopefully kayak. Diving would be a 1 day out of many type activity. But we thought, since we are in the area why not get our fins wet too. We are still looking for lodging too. Roche Harbor, Friday Harbor, or maybe Victoria. Again, we have never been to the area and we are the semi-adventurous types.

We are hoping to make it a two whale year... going to Kona in March (Dive trip) and seeing whales and again Orcas there.

What kind of lodging are you looking for? B&B, hotel, upscale, moderate, economy? If you want a more "close to the water" experience whale watching, try the Western Explorer, more traditional is the Western Prince. They are both run by the same company. For kayaking try Discovery Kayaking. They are also associated with a San Juan Excursions Whale Watching (they also do a great job with the whale watching). If you have any other questions - let us know. You'll have a great trip!! (but you might want to dive for 2 days, instead of one  Sorry I can't post urls yet!
