Thanks for all the great info, sjspeck... Are you sure you can't join us? Take a day off... drive a little , dive a little... :eyebrow: I'll write a note to your boss, excusing you from work that day if that will help!
Don't tempt me!!!

I could be there in 2 hrs from here, there's probably 20 flights/day.

And I haven't dove the cove in a while.

The boss would be no problem since he's a diver too - I'm self-employed...

The only problem is that I've become somewhat of a warm water wussy of late. Don't even own a good wetsuit anymore...

WWW (warm water wussy)? only way to cure that is a nice dive in temperate water. Say in La Jolla Cove in August? Then when THAT is over, you can come to Tahoe (anyone see the article in the August issue of Scuba Diving magazine?) and check out my area sites where above the thermocline it is 60-65 and below it 48-55 in summer!

I'd recommend a boat dive with Dive Bliss Scuba ( http://www.oeexpress.com/ or http://www.divebliss.com/ ). I did one trip with them to the Coronado Islands. No rich kelp forests there, but there was some interesting marine life. Never been shore diving, never dove wreck alley (which is supposed to be good for experienced divers), never did any shore diving (snorkeled in the cove a few times, crowded beach and the parking lot was tiny, marine life was awsome though), so I can't really help you there.

La Jolla Cove is a great and convenient place to dive. There are showers and a grassy area where you put your gear on. The beach is about 20 stairs down but water access is very easy as the cove is secluded. We saw a lot stuff to see in 30 feet of water or less. Also there is a dive shop for refills about 6 minute drive away in, what I believe is called, La Jolla shores.

I think y'all have convinced me that La Jolla Cove is the place to go. Now about a local dive buddy... anybody up for it on the 17th? Guides are paid ya know. :eyebrow:
