San Clemente Island is another club favorite! We have several spots available at this time. Plan for 3 dives, and if we time it right, you can get a "night dive" in as soon as the boat is anchored (some may actually make 4 dives if the timing works out). At San Clemente Island you will find the kelp forest is abundant and home to many colorful animals including the Norris top snail and several species of nudibranchs. Word has it that the lobsters are abundant for the bug catchers (although it is also known as the "island of the shorts")! Bat rays, sea lions, horn sharks, swell sharks, schools of blacksmith, black sea bass, and a great many sheephead are among the critters that can be found at San Clemente Island.

Wish I knew about this earlier.... San Clemente is on my "to do list" and sounds like a good trip,
but it would cost me to cancil our trip to "the Nods" on the Humbolt (WaterHorseCharters).... ah hopefully next time.
