Net Doc, I completely agree, death does happen naturally on the reef...natural course of the ecosystem, survival of the fittest, and/or food chain (nature taking its course). Unfortunately, in this situation the cause of this Grouper's condition may not have been "natural" (read through the posts), hence the "sad" part of the topic.
