I know there are no such thing as "dumb questions," right? I haven't seen this addressed anywhere.....:shocked2:

We're doing DIVEQUEST at Disney World in June and this just occured to me: Is it safe to ride roller coasters the day of or day after you dive?

I know there are no such thing as "dumb questions," right?

dumb
adj 1: slow to learn or understand; lacking intellectual acuity;
"so dense he never understands anything I say to him";
"never met anyone quite so dim"; "although dull at
classical learning, at mathematics he was uncommonly
quick"- Thackeray; "dumb officials make some really
dumb decisions"; "he was either normally stupid or
being deliberately obtuse"; "worked with the slow
students" [syn: dense, dim, dull, obtuse, slow]

2: unable to speak temporarily; "struck dumb"; "speechless with
shock" [syn: speechless]

3: lacking the power of human speech; "dumb animals"
4: unable to speak because of hereditary deafness [syn: mute,
silent]

No, but there are "Goofy" ones. (as in Mickey's Dog)

Ride the roller coaster, swim in the tank, go nuts.

Stay away from Porky Pig, he's been sneezing since Saturday.

A roller coaster would shake you up a bit. It depends how deep you dive, how many dives you do that day, and how long since your last dive. With simple rec diving and no deco, going on a roller coaster the next day shouldn't be too much of an issue. But on the same day, I'd be a little hesitant. If you feel like diving kicked your butt that day I would definitely stay away.

I'd guess it's probably about as safe to ride it after diving as before diving.

there might be a theoretical risk from elevated heart rate and blood pressure in the same way that hot showers and vigorous excercise are not recommended after diving - but you'd have to get on a rolelrcoaster immediately after a succession of dives for there to be any risk at all.

Height - wise there is no risk at all, you're not going high enough.

Enjoy the rollercoasters! :-)

oh and there is one stupid question. It goes like this:

"Mr. Crowley, can I offer you another beer?"

hehe!

No issues at all. Have a blast!

As long as you don't fall out---------but that's good advice for anytime...:)

Eat lots of rice and ride the coaster before the dive! THen you'll have lots to feed the fishes in front of the restaurant window while everyone is looking. What's the UW sign for I'm gonna puke?!
