Just curious, but what type of information did they put on the microfiche?
Anything you supplied on their form. name etc, emergency contact info, medications, medical restrictions etc. The idea was that the police, pararmedics or an E/R doc would have your complete history in case you were unconscious.

I was certified NASDS in 1991 by Chaz Kafer at Divers Den in Baltimore, Maryland.
Currently I'm a PADI Divemaster. NASDS was a good agency.

Certified 1974 with NASDS. Then went with P.ut A.nother D.ollar I.n for the rest of my certs.

Was only one card then, you were Certified or you weren't. That simple.

Yep, NASDS certification in 1978 at Aquatic Gateways in Pompano Beach Florida. The instructor (Steve Dee) was top notch. I was 14 at that time and my dad did not want me diving with anyone else. I have the old microfiche c-card too. It contained all your health & personal info in the event of an emergency. I still dive with the same Mark V Scubapro regulator that I bought from Aquatic Gateways in 1978.

I was certified by NASDS in 78. I remember the card with the microfiche, but it self destructed sometime in the 80's.

NASDS 1972, Ken Cotton instructor, Neptune, NJ. Had been diving a little for a few years already, but by the early 70s dive shops began to ask for a C card. I learned quite a lot from the several weeks of instruction, which included theory, application, equipment function and structure, pool and ocean dives, a variety of demanding competency tests, stress management techniques, dive planning, navigation, all sorts of things. It was at least the equivalent of AOW, probably considerably more.

I still have all my old NASDS materials. I found them a few weeks ago going through the storage unit... They had some nice looking materials considering how long ago it was.
