I watched my TAG F1 fill up with sea water at 50ft. Got a nice photo of it somewhere. It was quartz and had the battery replaced a few times and the dealer didn't check the seals and at the time I wasn't knowledgeable enough to insist on it.
It's not the TAG's fault, but would not by a quartz battery powered dive watch.
Well, I'll never buy another quartz battery powered watch. Not even Grand Seiko's 'Spring Drive' which is quartz, but no batteries to replace. I guess I'm just a quartz snob.

Yes... and no. The Rolex have a very high value on the market only if they are in perfect condition. Some collectors just keep them always in a box, like a piece of jewelry. If they are used it's different... Anyway, I really wonder why one would like to use a Rolex for diving. To me it doesn't make sense...even for a very rich person... it still doesn't make much sense. There is the risk of damaging it, of having it stolen or even worse getting violently robbed. For diving there are cheaper and even more efficient solutions. A 500 USD diving computer can be technically better than a Rolex. Then if you like the Rolex you keep as a "normal" watch or, like I said, in a safe like a jewel not to be used
