Granted, I haven't seen the entire print article yet, but these results are not what I was expecting. What do you guys think of the outcome? Is this the ultimate in bias or (could it be) a fair review?
As a newbie who scours this board regularly, it does seem unlikely... what's your take???

The regs I use and recommend, the Titan LX, Legend & Legend LX scored just where I thought they would... at the top.

I did expect the Apeks line to fare a bit better, especially the ATX200... However, I am a newbie and have minimal personal experience to draw on.
There has been much discussion regarding bias at Rodales'and I am unsure how much faith to put into this review. Since I hold this board and it's contributors in such high regard, your opinions are invaluable to me.

Seems you feel the results are unbiased and right on. That's good to hear. This is the kind of input I am looking for.

I don't know if they're biased or not.

I have Scubapro regs and agree with the ratings they get; I've got zero complaints with mine.

I have never tried most of the others (but have tried a few others); the particular line you're referrring to are regs that I've never personally had in my mouth.... so I can't comment on the validity of their ratings.

The machine tests I'd tend to trust, for the simple reason that a manufacturer unfairly dissed on an objective measurement could easily go after Rodale's.

The subjective ones are tougher - a LOT tougher.

...so let's see, the mega-be-all-to-end-all regulator test has FOUR regs from the world famous brand "Sunshine Diving"...while of course ignoring that obscure newcomer to the regulator field......Poseidon !!!!

You send 'em the regs and they'll include 'em. Guaranteed.

are done with regulators (or anything else) purchased through normal retail channels without telling the company you're testing that you're doing it beforehand.

Having manufacturers send you something to test is asking to get hand-tweaked "specials" - you're not testing anything except what a manufacturer can deliver when they know they're under the gun.

Such a "test" is invalid on its face.
