I decided to try Pebble Beach this past weekend and had a similar experience with the "shore landing" and the visibility. Two buddies and I dove on Sunday and had to rely heavily on compass navigation and had to be very aware of where each of us was. The visibility was less than 2 feet at times and the surge picked up later in the day and made our attempt at lobstering very interesting. The entry was not too bad if you timed it right, but the exit was pretty challenging. You had to pick the right wave to "surf/ride" in and get to your feet quick before the next one pushed you in to the pebbles. It overall was still a great experience. I will return again when the conditions are a little more favorable. I agree with Scuba Mick that it was nice to be able to experience another place to dive in the Rockport area other than Back Beach.
