My TLS350 has turbo sole boots, and my CF200 has rock boots. I had issues with my feet getting cramped up and too much pressure being put on my feet by my jet fins, but when I switched to the Medium 400g booties, that went away totally, however I like the turbo sole boots much better for actual diving. I would not sacrifice diving performance for surface comfort.

Just my 2 cents

Turtle fins are not the be-all end-all solution. Yes, they are the next best thing to SP Jets. However I feel , as well as many others that they do not have as great of directional control and thrust as a jet fin. Unless you have a mammoth foot size 12+ you really dont need the Turtles. The turtles foot pockets are just too wide. I had to use the turtles when I had rock boots. The combination was a major pain in the neck. If I lived in an enviornment where I did a bunch of rocky shore diving I would still use the turbo soles. Rock boots really are not that much more stable. Yes, I can see how rock boots will last a little longer in that situation, However I would replace the turbos as often as needed in that senerio.

It's true the turtle fins don't have the same thrust capabilities as they are much softer, but definitely one of the best alternatives I have seen. DUI says the maximum rock boot that fits with a jet fin is a size 10, however that is my foot size and NOPE it didn't work. Since I have a few sets of jet fins I tried something. I used a heating gun that I use for dry suit repair, warmed up the rubber and then put in a wooden block to open up the foot pocket. That fixed it right away and no need to go to Turtle Fins (not that they are so bad)

Unfortunately I did all of this prior to finding out about turbo sole boots, DIR etc. but for a long time that was a good solution for me.

I dive with Turtles and Rock boots size 11, and use spring straps. That combination works great for me.

Same here, though I'd like to try the new XXL jets when they come out.

Is Scubapro planning to make XXL Jetfins or is it just a wish?

Anders
I haven't heard a release date as they're still tooling up, but it's not vaporware.
