Right now I am using my dads rock boots, he's a size 8. Normally I wear a 9 1/2 sneaker but I fit into his rockboots fine, they are snug but not near the point where it would hurt or anything, but there is no way I could wear heavier socks than the athletic socks I am wearing now. What size rock boot do you guys think I should order, size 9 or 10?

If your a size 9 1/2, I would order a 10

My work boots are size 9. My size 10 rock boots fit well with 2 pairs of socks. one pair of polartec, and 1 pair of 200 gram thinsulate. No diver ever got hurt because their feet were to warm!! :D

I would recommend the 10s as well. You can put in insoles as well if they are too loose. I have very skinny feet and I can the insoles in as well as 2 pair of socks. I find the insoles make it much easier to walk with the suit on, especially over rocks and such especially with all your gear on while making shore dives.

Definately at least 10. I am wearing size 9 wet boots and size 10 rock boot. With the thinulsate sock, even size 10 rook boot feels tight. You need to have the bigger fin, too. I am wearing 8 1/2 casual shoes though.

You think the 10s will still fit inside my large Jet Fins or will I need to order a larger pair?

No way, you need to get XL.

In case of having a wide foot.

Tavi:
I use Turtle Fins over my size 10 Rock Boots. My XL Jets are way to tight.

The Natural,

Find a local store that has a good selection of Converse Chuck Taylor All Star basketball shoes. They're a canvas top, flat sole, lace up shoe. Take your fins, drysuit and foot undergarments with you, find the size that fits and save yourself some money. The shoes are available in all black as well as quite a few other colors.

You will need 10 rock boots and maybe 11 if you use really thick socks, bunting, or two pair as I often do. Size 10 rock boots equal turtle fins fitting perfectly or XXL jets fitting a little loose but I like them that way. XL Jets will be too small. I repeat, XL Jets will be too small. BTW, I have the same size shoe and already went through the whole Jets sizing thing. Even my wife's size 8 rock boot was a little tight with XL Jets. Now, XL SPLIT Jets will be perfect with 10-11 rock boots. Check out kidspot's excellent "boots/sizing with Jets post"...Do a search...good luck!

One other thing...you might want to try on a pair of the bare trek boots. With those you may be able to keep your XL Jets as the trek boots are a bit smaller than the rock boots.
