Couple suggestions - one is to move your question to Central/South America on this BBS. More people there familiar with Roatan which is Honduras which is distinctly more Central American than Caribean.
Also, try the Lonely Planet Thorn Tree for info on Roatan, particularly non-diving related. Here's the link...

On a wedding in August in the Carib, I have to ask divadiva if you've read anything about the weather there during that month. If it's hurricane season in the US, then it's hurricane season in Honduras. You may be fine, you may have your entire stay rained on. Nobody can predict the weather that far in advance, but... Read up on the weather and ask more questions.
