The scorpionfish usually won't move unless you touch them. When they do move, they have nicely colored pectoral fins.

I can't remember the dive sites. I'll see if I can look it up. It was probably one of the sites that both CoCoView and Fantasy Island go to.

The first fish was at the perfect location for a photo. The scorpionfish was on a small outcropping, away from the upper portion of a wall, so I could get between him and the wall to get a blue background. The second scorpionfish wasn't as accessable.

FYI, I did no photoshopping to either image except to crop and delete some minor backscatter spots in the water. I didn't even adjust the levels, saturation, brightness, contrast, or anything.

Thanks for the kind remarks,

David

RoatanMan:
It's not the dive site, it's the Dive Master. You can either find them for yourself (hard to do), or follow a dedicated DM.

FIBR goes to many of the same dive sites as he did at CoCoView. CCV goes to a couple of others, further East. It's all in the finding- it's all there.

Great stuff.

Yeah, my DM was great, I have little experience in those kind of ecosystems, he spotted all the Seahorses. I got much better at spotting the cool stuff towards the end of the week.
