I did answe "Always unless diving tomorrow", because when Im doing my dive holidays, Im just too busy relaxing to start lugging my gear back and forth to the dive center to rinse, store and get it back on the boat the next day. Its just so much less hassle to let the deck hands make sure it gets transferred to the right boat (or to set it up on a new tank before getting back at the jetty if Ill stay on the same boat) than to keep dragging all my gear with me.
And of course when I dive locally I pretty much dive in the same water that comes out of the tap so unless its gotten dirty from mud, sand or other "stuff" theres no point. The lake is as clean or cleaner than what come out of the hose anyways..
