We were in Maui in April, and water was 80 degrees. We wore 5 mil and were perfect. If you don't get cold, you can wear 3 mil. Water temp was consistent to at least 90 feet (our deepest depth, and no noticable thermoclines).
Spent two days diving with Mike Severns Diving and was impressed with their knowledge of marine life and the predive briefings. Their pacing was good too, very casual diving without a lot of rushing to and from. Had a lot of time to enjoy the local scenary.
The first boat out in the morning while we were there was ProDive.
