Rick Rogers, author of Shipwrecks of Hawaii will be speaking at the Sea Lancers' Clubhouse on Hickam AFB on May 17th at 7pm.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Rick, he has been researching the shipwrecks of the Sandwich Islands (that's Hawaii for those who are not sure:D), for well over 20 years. Although you would have to ask him more about it, he may have discovered a Spanish Galleon of the Big Island that pre-dates Captain Cook's discovery of Hawaii. Talk about re-writing some history books...

While this event is for members of the military and DOD, if your are neither, find yourself a military dive buddy who isn't a member. Not only could they bring you to the meeting, but you have helped us increase our membership!

Also, for our June membership meeting, we have lined up the famous Catherine96821 to give us a presentation on photography.

@#$%#$ I leave for the mainland on the 15th.

Perhaps when you see him can you ask if he has any plans to research 19th and 20th century wrecks near Oahu. Preferably those in less than 300' =).

Too bad... actually, he is finishing up his Oahu book right now, and that is his topic for the meeting.

GRRRRR, now you're just teasing. Perhaps a video recording might be made?

Good idea, I'll have to ask for permission from Rick. Maybe if the speakers OK it, I could start a little video library for Sea Lancers.

Hey did you get a video or a recording? :) :)

I did, the audio is great but the video portion isn't very good. I've got to ask Rick for a copy of his power point so I can put it to the audio. I'll keep everyone informed.

Sweet, thanks a bunch!

thank-you, sorry I could not come...children are so inconvenient.
