My buddy Matt and I hit Pier 5 in Narragansett for a nice easy night dive. The vis was way better than it has been in RI for the past several months. We had around 15-20ft vis and the water temps were around 41 degrees. Max depth was about 21 ft.

It was clear enough that I was using the light by the boat ramp as a navigational reference during the dive. Seas were calm, although there were several episodes of pretty decent surge that came and went throughout the dive.

Lots of lobsters were out. If I had a license I am sure I could have bagged the limit. There were also quite a lot of winter flounder. We came up on one concentration of flounder where there were probably about 5 of them in a 10 ft radius.

Glad to hear I wasnt imagining things with the vis last w/end! Hope it stays that way for a while. Lobstah?? I've gotta get down there...

When you go out, do you direct out past the pier and to the left?

Hey Chris,, my turn!
The diving in the keys is great. 50+' of vis, 78 deg. water temps, air in the low 80's.
Sea life is amazing, and plentiful, wrecks were nearly void of other divers so pennetration was as easy as it gets with no stirred up mess to follow. Been here a week, and hate to say it, but will have one more to go before I can get back to some real diving! :-)

Yup, headed northeast up the shore toward the Coast Guard House and then worked our way back.

Nice! You win! Pier 5 has nothing on that!
