Hey guys,

I am heading up to Jamestown and Newport Rhode Island (from NJ) to finish my AOW training. Anyone have any recent reports or potential expectations for the weekend? Visibility? Sea Conditions?

We will be doing shore dives in both areas on Friday and Saturday.

Thanks,
-BC

FTW will suck after all this rain probably 3-5' vis. Newport will depend where, Castle Hill will probably be a little better than FTW but not much better. Where are you going in Newport? Did you get your compass issues fixed?

We hit fort wetherill this morning for our current dive, which was a blast. We got beat up by the surf getting in and the current was moving well, but it was a lot of fun.

Navigation went very well, the oceanic compass I got was a breeze. We did 3 nav runs without any problems at all.

This evening we went down to fort adams for our night dive. Vis was bad at about 4 feet, but the skills portion was fine. We will be back at it tomorrow at another location, but so far so good.
