(Yes, thank you very much DIR gods: I know I don't need a retractor, that it's a failure point, that I should wear it on my arm, and that a compass on a retractor will kill me).

I would like to take my life into my hands and put my SK7 compass on a retractor. My wife has an Aeris Atmos Elite on its dedicated retractor, which works out quite well for her. I'm looking for something similar for my compass. Notwithstanding my smart-aleck comment above, I'm not generally a huge retractor fan and don't have any currently. What I like about the Aeris is that it's small, unobtrusive, and sits under the gauge so dangling is kept to an absolute minimum. I found an SK7 already on a retractor for sale at LeisurePro (http://www.leisurepro.com/Prod/SQTSK7R.html), but since I can't find anything on the Suunto site I suspect it's just a standard retractor mounted to the compass. It also looks as if it sits between the compass and the clip, increasing dangliness.

Has anyone found an unobtrusive retractor that works well with an SK7?

Not for my poor old eyes !!!! :chillin6:

I usually drive a stake in the bottom, hook my compass up to it and back up so I can read it.

It's tough gettin' old !!! :oldman:

well, considering there's a loop on the top of the console SK-7, you could just get a standard retractor and clip it in there... it would look semi-ugly (you'll have the console-mount screw holes visible) but it would work.

I already have a perfectly good SK7 in a wrist mount, and I don't have (or want) a console so no loop for me. The hose mount won't be much help since my only hoses are my two second stages and BC inflator.
