Location
Malibu, CA is where I spend most of my dive time.
# of dives
I just don't log dives
I just bought an Aqua-lung DA- "aqua-master" twin hose reg on E-bay, can anyone give me any ideas on where I can get this serviced/restored? :scuba:

I only want to use it for demo dives, so I would like to get it looking like new. Tips or suggestions would be appreciated.

Both Vintagescuba.com and the Going Under Dive Center offer parts and Vintage Scuba will service/restore your reg. (I am however not overly impressed as one DA Aquamaster I own that Vintage Scuba worked on breathes like a rock.) Most rubber parts are available either in good used condition, new old stock or as new reproductions.

There is also a gentlemen in the UK who is making and selling new hoses and potentially new straight mouthpieces.

...have you tried Vintagescubasupply.com in Oregon? I've bought a number of twinhoses from him and have been very pleased with Dan's honesty/work.

Stripped one down a few years ago and had it re-chromed. It was bright chrome, I could not find anyone who could do satin chrome. Looked brand new.

You are saying this before you have even tried it out! A nicely tuned DA AquaMaster is a pleasure to dive with. Once you slip underwater and see what it is like to have the bubbles behind your head (where they should be), it is just barely possible that you may be hooked. Your single hose might be the one that ends up being used for "demonstration only".

I am impressed with his parts and work. He even offers label repainting.

Here is the link to the regulator repair information page from the Vintage Scuba Supply website. This should help answer your questions:

Dan rebuilt/overhauled one of my vintage regulators and it breathes great.
