We were looking into Valentine's Day dinner at Buccanos.. $250 per couple! Crikey, I wouldn't pay that in the states.

La Choza knocked my socks off, such a great family atmosphere, great drinks, service, and the food was fantastic.
Agree. I try to go there whenever I'm on the island. It's a bad trip if I don't make it there.

Yep I love La Classica as well! Last time they had a molcajete with 3 or 4 different sides of sauces that were all bomb. Looking forward to going back next month!
Much to my shagrin, La Classica was closed down when I was there last September.

We got totally hosed on our New Year's Eve dinner. $80 a person for steak that you couldn't cut with a chainsaw and lobster that was probably caught and frozen when Vicente Fox was president. It was my fault for going with an unknown place. At least Buccano's will be good!

Which restaurant was that? We keep a short list of restaurants on Cozumel that we really like and a shorter list of places we avoid.

Jungle by Tikila, it's the upstairs restaurant operation of Tikila Beach Bar down by Puerta Maya. The setting was good and the people were very very nice. They just weren't really setup to deliver the dining experience they were charging for. I shoulder some of the blame for not going with a known quantity, but I was late to make reservations and that was all I could find for something different and special for the family. The reviews were good so I thought it was worth a shot. C'est la vie
