WILLIAM C. "BILL" BOWDEN | Visit Guest Book
William "Bill" C. Bowden of Deltona, Age 58, passed away unexpectedly on February 1, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Carol; son, Robert and his wife Crystal Light of Deltona; two grandchildren, Alex & Jordan Parodi-Light; father, William F. and his wife, Helen Bowden of Orlando. He is predeceased by his mother, Fran Bowden. Bill recently retired as head librarian of the Deltona regional Library. He spearheaded the addition of videos to the library's vast collection, as well as, being instrumental in beginning the process of expansion and improving the Deltona Regional Library. In years past he served as both a paramedic and a volunteer firefighter. Bill proudly served again as a volunteer firefighter during the 1998 Wildfires. Bill was a certified cave diver and a member of the Lake Mary Dive Club. He was most proud of his work with friend and renowned artist, Michael Angelo Gagliardi and others to restore damage done by vandals to the Cow Springs Cave in Luraville, FL. His most recent occupation was as the Captain of the cabin cruiser Moondancer. He was an active member of the Deltona community, an avid diver and water enthusiast. His smile was contagious and could light up a room. Loved by many, Bill will be dearly missed. At this time there are no services scheduled. Is this the same Bill Bowden that dove with Sheck Exley in Mexico when he was attempting that 800'+ dive?
