I'm a Fish!
Hi,

Can someone point me in the right direction on how to be a repair tech? Is it a one course cover all or must I be appointed by the respective brands through some proprietary training?

Thank you!

RT

Typically it is brand specific, and you normally need to be a shop employee to get into the classes. HOG/Edge Gear will teach courses to end consumers and allow them to purchase repairs parts.

Do a search for regulator repair, there is TONS of info on here.

HOG/EDGE Dealers who offer the TDI HOG repair Specialty will teach the course and sell parts to consumers who hold a tech diving cert (any tech level)

Thanks for the clarification Chris. On another note, what about us guys who have repair certs from other manufacturers? Are we able to get parts/manuals for your regs?

Jim

P.S. Sorry for the hijack

If you work for a shop contact me, if not but are a tech for other brands I recommend you get in touch with one of my dealers hat offer the course. I am sure they can work with you.

I am still confused. I did do a search and I mainly find a "Dive Industry Service Course" or something to that effect. Is taking that course a pre-requisite? Or what other avenues are there?

Thanks!

Where are you located?

Why is the technical diving certification necessary?
