I recently broke down a set of doubles to inspect them and when I broke down the manifold I noticed that one of the dip tubes had broken off before I got them (I bought them used and haven't broken them down 'til yesterday). I tried using a set of forceps as that was the smallest thing I could find around the house to remove the broken off end. Any other suggestions as how to remove it?

Thanks

?Pipe extractor?

The cost of a set of pipe extractors might be more than the cost of a new valve body, though.

All the best, James

not a bad idea, thanks!

Even better find a machine shop that has pipe/screw extractors and take them 22oz beer and ask then to pull it.

BTW the hardest part is all already done for you as it is a tube, normally one needs to drill into it first for the extractor to work.

Thanks :thumb:

I actually ended up doing this. Only I went to the store and bought a screw extractor and drank the beer myself :D

now I just have to get my hands on a dip tube to fit a Halcyon valve and of course the only dip tubes my LDS has are too big :shakehead:

This will probably require more beer.

probably... I guess it's a good thing that I brew my own beer

I now know that removing a broken dip tube is a one beer job....

Then you'll need more broken dip-tubes. Home-brew crocks.

Contact Diver's Supply or Dive Rite the H Valves are the same as Sea Elite and Dive Rite.

Ps Need any Chinook Hops - I'll be harvesting tomorrow and will in Bean Town in a couple of weeks.

Amazing, how a screwdriver works
for complicated stuff like dip tubes

Yes brass ones
