That is not a poppet, it is the balance chamber. Perhaps a Titan LX, but definitely not a Titan. It is hard plastic.
All she said other than she thought they said it was the poppet... said it was bad and needed replacement. She dove today without the free flow issue Yahoo. What do you think was wrong with the balance chamber?

They can wear internally causing the poppet O ring/s not to seal properly.

Is that something that could a should a been detected three months ago when serviced?
 
Save color it's the same as found in Apeks.
Color difference is probably just generational. All Aqualung and Apeks balanced 2nds use the same part, except for the TX50 military version, which is slightly longer.

Assemble poppet, balance chamber, put on flat surface to seal off LP seat, gently push on balance chamber, it should spring back if sealing (vacuum). If it doesn't you have either an O ring issue or the sealing surface in the balance chamber is damaged.

Edit: typed too fast spring is not used.
