I spoke to some people on scene. He went in on the seaweed divers side with two people at around 9:30. He was found at the opposite end of the quarry near the platforms (those are at 15 ft but with such little rain are now at about 12-13). About a 20 minute swim. At the ground it would be pushing it to be 20 feet.

Two divers from an unrelated group found him there with his mouth piece out at 11:45-12. They immediately surfaced and began yelling for help. A life guard came over on a paddle boat and brought him to the new horizons side. They worked on him for an hour but it was too late.

Dive with a buddy. Even tec diving instructors can get into trouble.
