:11: Saturday went out diving and decided to dive the Regina and the sport off of sanilac. I just got a new boat and me and my buddy were going to try her out for diving. Its a 24' Sport Craft and as i expected it worked out great for diving. Well we left Lexington harbor about Noon on saturday the water was clam like glass,It was a bit cloudy and overcast but other than that great conditions.

When we got down to the REGINA it was different story. Vis was great down the line and down to the Props and Rudder. But once you droped over and down over the stern it got really couldy. I would say vis was about 10 to 12' max at the bottom around 75 ' and about 48 degree. This was prolly my 8th dive this season on her so it was a bit dissapointing with the vis. The Vis on the inside was just as bad so we did not pererate her. After about a 35min bottom time we surfaced and climed back on board and headed to the SPORT for our second dive.

The SPORT was the same conditions on the surface and on the bottom. If you have never been on the sport it a small 57' tug with lots to see in 50' of water. But like i said the vis could have been better. Other than that it was a great day of diving and plan on getting out a few more timees before winter get here. Hopefully hit the Dunderburg in the next few weeks before the cold sets in.

Diving out of the boat worked out great. Got some work to do on her for next summer like build a real dive ladder and a nice swim platform, but other than that she worked out great. Also it saves about 80$ every weekend with having your own boat.I think this weekend we are hitting the New York so that will be cool i have not done the New York yet.

I did a couple of dives on the New York back in late August. Viz at the surface and desending down the mooring line was 50-60 ft. and 63 degrees F. When we hit 81 ft. the viz dropped to 10 ft and 52 degrees. then when we got to the wreck at 95 ft the viz went up to 15-20 ft and 46 degrees and stayed there all the way to the bottom at 117 ft. Its a great dive but you bottom time runs out pretty quick.

cool guys thanks for the report...I will write in with a report if we make it out this weekend. Also i think our second dive is going to be the Col. AB Williams or the FB GARDNER have any of you done these two?

I dove both the Col. A.B. Williams and the F.B. Gardner the same week that we dove the New York. I like the Col. A.B. Williams better because the wreck is more intact (the Gardner is pretty much just wood planks laying on the bottom). Also the "bouy" marking the Gardner was "missing" so I had to dive down and find the mooring line and bring it back up to tie-off to.

I did the Williams last year and it was a nice dive. Our viz wasn't too great however. I plan on hitting the Regina and Sport this Saturday afternoon so hopefully the viz will be good. It was awesome when we did it this summer. We had 40-50 feet on the Regina and Charles Price.

Yea I dove it a few times this summer and it was great..But i think last year was even better All year long it was great. Who you running out with...I think Gary's boat is running to Regina this weekend.
